We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage our accounting operations, oversee financial reporting accuracy, mentor junior accountants, and help optimize our accounting processes. You’ll ensure compliance with Saudization/Emiratization requirements while developing our team’s accounting capabilities. Your experience and leadership will be vital to our financial success and team development.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
  • Lead and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance on accounting practices, system processes, and problem-solving
  • Ensure compliance with Saudization/Emiratization requirements and regional labor regulations
  • Develop and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Support external audits by preparing documentation, maintaining audit trails, and coordinating with auditors
  • Handle complex accounting transactions, investigate discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues
  • Collaborate with finance leadership on month-end and year-end closing procedures

Senior Accountant Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (IFRS/Local), and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with ability to develop junior staff
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills a plus
  • Experience with GCC or MENA accounting environments strongly preferred
