Accounts Payable Manager Responsibilities
- Manage all accounts payable operations including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor master data
- Lead and develop the AP team, delegating responsibilities, monitoring performance, and ensuring efficient processing
- Implement and optimize AP processes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with regional payment regulations, tax requirements, and internal control policies
- Manage vendor onboarding, maintain vendor relationships, and negotiate payment terms and discounts
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, and deductions
- Prepare AP reports and cash flow analysis for management, identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Control cash flow by managing payment timing, taking advantage of early payment discounts, and optimizing working capital
- Support audits and maintain detailed AP documentation and audit trails
Accounts Payable Manager Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 2-3 years in a management role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, AP best practices, and internal controls
- Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with proven ability to develop staff
- Strong analytical skills with focus on process improvement and cost optimization
